The most important of these inventions are those media which, such as the press, movies, radio, television and the like, can, of their very nature, reach and influence, not only individuals, but the very masses and the whole of human society, and thus can rightly be called the media of social communication. – Pope Paul VI, Inter Mirifica, 1963 Join The Catholic Media Association"For such a time as this..." This phrase from Holy Scripture describes our thoughts regarding The Catholic Media Association. “For such a time as this” – we are being called to build a community of faith for Catholic communicators. TCMA is designed to bring together journalists, bloggers, videographers, cinematographers, writers, radio and TV broadcasters, producers, graphic designers, and others who are interested in communications especially with regard to their Catholic faith. From TV to Twitter and print to PC’s, the world of media is in a significant time of transition. The Catholic Media Association wants to be present as a community where creative ideas are shared in addition to serving as an online laboratory for the development of emerging media technologies. TCMA is not just Catholic in name but in heart. Our personal commitment to our Lord and His Church is not just a component of the association; it is the core around which all aspects of our mission will be formed. We intend to stimulate a faith dimension designed to encourage spiritual formation and maturity in Christ. Communication can be the key to transforming culture. As a member of the TCMA, you will be joining other communicators from around the globe, who are bringing together their talents and the tools of technology at the service of this new missionary age. © 2009 TCMA.
